Our Story and Mission
Trianna Feruza & the Heavy Hitters are all about creating music that makes people feel something. Music you can dance to, cry to, shout along with, and share with the people around you. Our mission is to bring people together through groove, storytelling, and community, using music as a tool for connection, radical self-expression, and transformation.
Fronted by powerhouse vocalist and songwriter Trianna Feruza, this 4-piece neo-soul/indie-funk band is rooted in Santa Cruz, California. Our sound blends deep-pocket funk grooves, rich R&B soul, and fearless lyrical storytelling. People have described it as “No Doubt meets Anderson .Paak jammin’ at a Sly and the Family Stone party,” which feels pretty right to us.
Our live shows are where everything really comes alive. We believe a concert should be a full-body experience—high energy, deeply soulful, and interactive. Tight arrangements, improvisation, crowd participation, and moments of pure groove turn every show into a shared celebration of rhythm, healing, and connection.
Beyond the stage, we stay deeply connected to our community. We help cultivate local showcases, multimedia performances, vendor markets, and fundraisers that bring artists and neighbors together. All of us are working music educators and community builders, and that spirit shows up in everything we do.

Growing up in the Bay Area Bellydance community Trianna has been on stage since utero. Performance has been a life long passion, whether its singing, rap, guitar, music has always been the driving force for this musician.
Ryan Ouse
Drummer
Ryan Ouse (aka Fryp4n) is a Santa Cruz-based drummer and producer. A multi-instrumentalist with 17+ years of experience, he currently plays for Trianna Feruza and the heavy hitters and does freelance studio work.
Zach Latham
Bassist
Zach Latham is a California based Bassist, Composer, Arranger, Music Director and Artist based in Santa Cruz California. They are a funky motherfunker obsessed with seeking joy and positivity through music, groove and harmony. Having studied Jazz, Popular Music and Afro-Cuban Music they yearn to find the groove present within all wonderful things. Drawing inspiration musically and spiritually from cats like John Paul Jones, Frank Zappa, Anthony Jackson, Alain Perez, Feliciano Arango, Geddy Lee, Richard Bona, Thundercat and Nick Campell.
Josh Baldwin
Lead Guitarist
Josh has been playing in band since elementary school, picked up guitar at 6 and has been in love ever since, with a Jazz/Metal background this shredder keeps the energy alive and will shred till his fingers fall off.
